While there were no athletic events on Tuesday, Florida State still had good news come its way.

Lead Story

Florida State center Alec Eberle was selected to the Allstate Good Works Team for his activity with the Kidz1stFund. Eberle is part of the Florida State chapter for Uplifting Athletes, a non-profit organization found at many campuses across the nation. He organized an event that raised over $16,000 for the Kidz1stFund in the fight against Fanconi anemia.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events on Tuesday.

On the Agenda

FSU volleyball travels down to Coral Gables for a match with the Miami Hurricanes. The game will start at 7 p.m. EST. It will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

News and Notes

CBS Sports ranked Florida State basketball No. 31 in the nation in its poll.

Florida State diver Tyler Roberge was named by the ACC as the Male Diver of the Week. Roberge won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in a recent Oct. 3 swim meet against Florida.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher remained tight-lipped on the injury situation with wide receiver Jesus Wilson. He mentioned that Wilson was sore and not practicing, but gave no specifics as to what the injury is. The senior wideout left Saturday’s game against Wake Forest early and was seen on the sidelines with a medical boot on.

When asked about injured safety Derwin James, Fisher added that “nothing says he’s going to play.” Early reports were optimistic that James could return in time for the highly-anticipated Clemson game on Oct. 29.
