The Seminoles finally closed out a game in convincing fashion on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 91-71. After being down for much of the first half, Florida State pulled ahead near the end and kept the momentum going into the second. It finally put its foot down with about six minutes to go in the game and cruised to a 20-point victory.

FSU Stud(s)
Montay Brandon finally broke out of his rut by posting 13 points and six rebounds on 4-for-6 shooting. He didn’t especially dominate in any one area, but he showed how much of an all-around player he can be when given the chance.

FSU Dud(s)
This was yet another game where no Seminole had a “bad” performance. But if you had to choose one, it would probably be Dwayne Bacon. He had 11 points on 35 percent shooting and six rebounds. Once again, not bad. But still a little surprising.

Valiant Foe(s)
Forward Cornelius Hudson for Wake Forest was a force on the inside. He totaled 17 points on 5-for-11 shooting with six rebounds. Hudson exposed the Seminoles’ glaring need for a inside presence.

Key Stat(s)
Corey Clark of the Tallahassee Democrat pointed out perhaps the most surprising stat of the day: Florida State only had six turnovers this game. That is almost certainly the lowest amount of the season and perhaps the lowest amount of the past few years.

When It Was Over
When Rathan-Mayes had a 3-point play with under five minutes left. It put FSU up 13 points and Wake Forest was never able to gain any momentum to try and mount a comeback.

Up Next for FSU
The Seminoles hit the road again for a Thursday night game at Syracuse, who are currently 16-8. The game is at 7 p.m. EST and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
